You're Next Career Network
UI/UX Designer
2015 - 2016, Toronto
The You're Next Career Network (YNCN) is an Toronto-based organization which seeks to bridge the gap between employers and students. In early 2015, YNCN decided to revamp its website and build it from scratch. Prior to the current iteration of the website, the site was created using pre-existing web templates. These templates were not perfect in delivering content to major user groups (students and employers) and so the Product & Tech Team (with me included) set out to build a new website. The new website (www.yourenext.ca) is build on Bootstrap and was designed using a variety of tools, ranging from Balsamiq for low-fidelity prototyping, to the Adobe Creative Suite to generate graphical assets and high-fidelity prototyping.
The design process starts on paper (paper prototype and website flow diagram not shown) to get a general idea of how the website will be laid out. Using display design principles and usability heuristics, we create the layout of the website with ease of use on the forefront.
